What makes the Basement so special? That’s where all the cool stuff happens. Founder Scotty Upton buys and trades vinyl records and performs live DJ sets at venues near you!
Basement Light Records founder Scotty Upton was born wearing headphones. Early DJ gigs were staged at house parties while attending art school. Scotty brought his “coffin”—actually a long coffee table, a 2-channel Realistic mixer, and two disparate turntables. He could be found in the center of the party, sitting legs folded under the table, spinning the latest vinyl records for friends and others probably too intoxicated to remember. Some things have changed since then: a significant gear upgrade and today Scotty is a pro DJ—entertaining at bars, nightclubs, special events, or parties. What’s remained the same is an honest work ethic and fair dealing.
Scotty buys vinyl record collections, too. If you have a large collection—or just a few—get in touch. He’s interested in LPs (big) and 45s (small). Fair prices are always paid and honest advice given at no charge.
